DBpedia Italia to create the WEB OF DATA

By in DevelopmentProgram

DBpedia is an open and volunteer project based on the reuse of the huge knowledge in Wikipedia.
The main goal is to arrange the contents semantically. Project aims primarily to extract information from the Italian version of Wikipedia and secondly to create a unique database, based on structured and linked data and at the same time easy to use by software or applications.

DBpedia follows the guidelines of Linked Data and promotes the creation of an Italian Web of Data. It fosters developers’ creativity and encourages the production of new browsing systems.

DBpedia Italy has been developed by SpazioDati s.r.l and the unit Web of Data FBK – Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento. TOP-IX Consortium (TOrino Piemonte Internet eXchange) is the hosting provider through its Development Program.
