Information sharing and cooperation for cybersecurity begin between national Internet Exchange Points MIX s.r.l. and TOP-IX and the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN).
The Italian National Cybersecurity Agency continues to strengthen collaboration and mutual exchange with national Internet Exchange Point (IXP) operators. Two new agreements have been signed with MIX s.r.l. and the TOP-IX Consortium to ensure more effective coordination in activities aimed at preventing and mitigating cyber threats.
Thanks to these agreements, it will be possible to launch information-sharing programs on the state and evolution of cyber threats, develop guidelines on BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) configuration security, and more broadly address the cybersecurity of national IXP operators. These initiatives align with the objectives of the National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan 2022–2026.
The agreements also aim to enhance the security of the national Internet infrastructure and promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices, thus contributing to a cybersecurity ecosystem based on collaboration between the Agency and the private sector.
These agreements reflect the Agency’s commitment to coordination and cooperation with national IXP operators, based on the awareness that only through information and experience sharing can we effectively counter cyber threats, improve prevention capabilities, and ultimately strengthen resilience in defense of national security.
