According to consortium logic, Marketplace services are provided to consortium members by other TOP-IX members.
The TOP-IX infrastructure allows, through private VLANs, the connection between service providers and purchasers, positioning itself as a simple technological intermediary.
As in IP Transit, indeed, the contract occurs between the consortium members, with no interference from the operational structure, except for the configuration of the appropriate VLANs and ports. Consortium members are free to choose whether to sell/buy various services on a single port (appropriately sized) or on different ports.
In particular, the Marketplace services exclusively include Layer 2 transport between the requesting entity and another Consortium member. The services provided through the aforementioned transport are subject to direct agreements between the two involved Members/Partners.
For more information, see our full Service Description.
The interconnection market has evolved over time, and many new services have emerged:
The Marketplace services are available exclusively in direct access mode to the TOP-IX platform.
Access to the services must be made in full compliance with the following constraints and requirements.
Physical Layer
The physical interfaces of the devices connected to the TOP-IX infrastructure must comply with the interconnection requirements defined in the Service Description document available in the “Useful documents” section. Any exceptions must be agreed upon with TOP-IX and explicitly authorized by it.
MAC and VLAN Layer
For Marketplace services, the usage of a maximum of two MAC addresses per VLAN per interconnection port is allowed. The agreements (IP Transit, Dedicated Access to Cloud, etc.) are negotiated directly between the Members/Partners of the Consortium without any interference from TOP-IX.
IP Layer
All Layer 3 interfaces connected to the Marketplace services platform of the Consortium and used for reselling services that involve the implementation of BGP sessions will have access to IPv4 and/or IPv6 addresses provided by TOP-IX.
Routing
In no case shall any IP address (IPv4 and/or IPv6) assigned by TOP-IX be announced via BGP.
Do you need further clarification?
Download the Service Description in the “Useful documents” section to view allowed MAC and VLAN protocols, as well as for more details on the available IPs and the service.
Discounts expected for 2024
