Fifteen “divers” from 6 different nationalities dive for 5 weeks in the “sea” of Big Data

The third edition of “BIG DIVE” took off yesterday. The course, organized by TOP-IX Consortium in collaboration with Axant, ISI Foundation and ToDo aims at fostering the growth of a new generation of professionals who can address the complex world of BIG DATA.

The 15 “divers” tutored by a team of experts, will test themselves on high-value datasets and will boost their skills in the three key areas for the data-management and analysis: Development, Visualization and Datascience.

Also this year the course has confirmed its “international mood”: 6 nations are well represented among the participants: in addition to Italy, Poland, Canada, Turkey, the Netherlands and Armenia. The average age is 30 years, with a range that goes from 24 to 44 years.

The first week will focus on the theme of # Visualization with two Guest Lectures: the first held by Massimo Botta, head of the Master of Advanced Studies in Interaction Design and Interaction Design Lab at SUPSI; the second by Paolo Ciuccarelli, Associate Professor at the Polytechnic of Milan, as well as founder and scientific coordinator of the Research Lab DensityDesign.
