An initiative developed by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and implemented by the Foundation for the School, aimed at transforming schools to enable them to tackle the challenges of a rapidly evolving society. Through collaboration with TOP-IX, the involved schools have been provided with a fiber-optic connection, ensuring fast and secure internet access.

Fulcrum Project

The Universal Cloud Federation
Period: 2024 – Ongoing
The Fulcrum project was launched with the goal of creating a Federated Cloud model that emphasizes complementarity and collaboration rather than competition among providers of different sizes.
The project is built on two main pillars: the InterCloud Exchange Foundation (ICX) and the Computing Exchange Market (CEM). The ICX serves as a consensus forum for defining and agreeing upon open-source frameworks for infrastructure federation. These frameworks are then supported and implemented within the Computing Exchange Market, a platform designed to enable the exchange and visibility of resources and services, adopting the solutions agreed and defined within the ICX.

Fulcrum Project

Il progetto Fulcrum nasce con l’obiettivo di realizzare un modello di Cloud Federato che fa leva sulla complementarità e sulla collaborazione, piuttosto che sulla competizione tra fornitori di diverse dimensioni.
Il progetto poggia su due pilastri: l’InterCloud Exchange Foundation (ICX) e il Computing Exchange Market (CEM). Il primo funge da stanza del consenso per definire e concordare framework open-source per la federazione delle infrastrutture, che saranno supportati e implementati all’interno del CEM, piattaforma di scambio e visibilità per risorse e servizi, che adotta soluzioni concordate e definite all’interno della ICX.

Device Edge Cloud Intelligent Collaboration framEwork

DECICE aims to develop an AI-based, open and portable cloud management framework for automatic and adaptive optimization and deployment of applications in a federated infrastructure, including computing from the very large (e.g., HPC systems) to the very small (e.g., IoT sensors connected on the edge).
